Premise

This episode will explore the rapidly changing geo-political landscape under Sauron’s spreading occupation of Middle Earth. Taking place sometime after the events of season one, an imbalanced dichotomy becomes apparent; elves, largely responsible for Sauron’s rise to power, have retreated to their protected realms, leaving the inhabitants of Middle Earth to suffer under harsh occupation. Arondir’s A-Storyline follows him surveilling his long-lost daughter in a ruthlessly occupied village. Firsthand, we see the brutal conditions experienced by the have-nots. Through Galadriel’s B-Storyline, we get a glimpse into the privileged world of elven royalty. Protected in their untouchable lands, elves, who are immortal, go on in their ivory towers of ignorance, unwilling to fight the occupying evil they let fester under their noses. Nori and the Stranger’s C-Storyline centers around self-discovery amidst a tainted natural world that’s been exploited and destroyed.

Vision

This is not fan fiction, nor is it an attempt to alter any of the beloved source material, but liberties are taken. This spec script attempts to marry the Middle Earth universe to familiar real-world strife. Beyond this spec script, my vision of a Middle Earth serialized drama would provide viewers with compelling new characters who interact within Tolkien's rich fantasy world and its iconic characters - much like an RPG game experience.
